This cartridge is actually better, because the non -corrosive powders and primers that are used now, instead of the powders used in the 1970’s-1990’s in military surplus stuff. Berdan primers offer very reliable ignition for hard hitting firing pins and the ballistics on the 5.45×39 by Wolf are every bit as good as the original line.

Purpose built for the AK variants, this round actually prefers the looser tolerances of AK’s and the heavy extraction of the platform. It is however also suitable for AR uppers and other new platforms seeking to take advantage of the cheap pricing of 5.45×39 ammunition.
